Garage Temporarily Empty
Black Spatter From Exhaust Pipes
I recently noticed black spatter on my garage floor from my exhaust.
If I had to guess, I would say it is oil....
But I have only seen this symptom after I installed my exhaust cutouts, not that they
are related...
I also add a quart of oil every 1500 miles.
Could I be getting oil blow-by, passed the piston rings into the combustion chamber?
How concerned should I be since most of us with V12's add oil on a regular basis...?

Black splatter on a garage floor at start up is common from cold pipes condensating combustion water, maybe the cut out mods accent this. It should not be there with a warm engine, average air temp. The oil use is average for a v12.
