The car started it's life as clk320 convertible and evolved into something completely different

- 5.0 v8 out of 2004 sl500 (~37k miles). Fuel injectors, air intake, MAF, radiator, all vacuum hoses, both radiator houses are brand new. build thread

- Bilstein B8 struts/shocks with h&r springs
- clk63 black series front sway bar and h&r adjustable rear
- All control arms, bushings and inner/outer tie rods replaced (only Mercedes or Lemforder parts)

- Forgestar CF5 rotary forged wheels: 18x8.5" front, 18x10" rear (in person look much better than on photos)
- Michelin Pilot Super Sport 235/40/18 front and 265/35/18 rear
- Brand new 6 piston front and 4 piston rear amg calipers (the same as 2005 clk55 ans slk55). Floating (two piece) front brembo rotors and single piece rear rotors. Some info and photos are here
- Goodridge Phantom Series G-Stop brake lines
- Fully restored interior with brand new leather (genuine Mercedes parts) on front seats. Interior restoration thread
- All 7 hydraulic cylinders were rebuilt by "Top Hydraulics"
- Brand new "Robbins Auto Top" soft top
Maintenance records (stopped tracking after transmission swap
)I have photos to prove all of the above.
I've owned the car since 2016, last year it moved with me from CA to WA (never been driven in snow in WA, don't even have winter tires :-D ). Never been in an accident.
Not so great part:
- Unfortunately during shipping last year front bumper was damaged (have photos to prove it) and right now the car is without it. I have clk55 bumper but it requires fixing.
- Rear muffler was replaced with Flowmaster Pro Series one... Not sure I like the sound (not too loud, but not pretty). Since I left clk320 exhaust after the engine swap (yup exhaust diameters are the same across clk320/clk500) it requires some changes, I'd say removing resonator (clk500 resonator is smaller) as on clk55, or installing smaller one.
- Don't really have very good pictures, but on this video it looks good
(recaro seat was switched back with original one)
