2005 E55 AMG
I have a 2005 E55 with about 60k miles on it. Black on black. About 3 years ago the brake warning system came on and I limped it home to my driveway until I could deal with it. After a few weeks had passed the air suspension leaked down and killed the battery. I replaced the battery, started the car and it pumped up the suspension. This went on for about a year until I neglected it for too long and it killed another battery. Since then it has been sitting on the ground with a disconnected battery. The brake system is covered by a recall that is good for another 4 years.
I am in the process of having it taken by flatbed to a local shop to have the airmatic fixed and then transported to the dealership to address the brake problem but I’ve lost interest in the whole car and now I am considering selling it as/is. The body and interior are in good shape and it has always been a fantastic car. I’m getting to the point that I need to start unloading some of my projects and try to simplify my life.
I live in Charleston and I’m open to reasonable offers.

Yes it is still for sale although I have not advertised it yet. Body and interior are in good condition with a clean carfax. The last time that I started was about a year ago and it started and ran fine. At this point I need to replace both batteries again which I’m reluctant to do until I have the time and interest to screw with it.
I’m thinking around $6k for it considering that it will probably take in the neighborhood of $3k to fix the airmatic. I really don’t know what the air suspension problem is. May be as simple as a fuse or relay, or maybe a bad pump.
The brake system is still under a factory recall for about 5 more years.
The engine, transmission, and everything else were working fine 3 years ago and the mileage is low. I’ve always done my own work on it and didn’t mind because it is such a great car but I’m buried in cars, boats, properties, motorcycles, etc., and it’s time that I start seriously downsizing.
The car needs someone with the time, energy, ,and patience to bring it back to life. I’ll post the vin number shortly.

I have decided to pull this car from the market at this time. I originally posted the car in response to a member’s post who lived within 100 miles of me which would make transporting the car economically feasible. My reason for the post was that I’ve been neglecting the car and was trying to minimize the effort of dealing with it.
Following my original post I have been inundated with posts from those interested in the car and rather than making my life easier, now I am spending time that I don’t have trying to respond to all of the private messages, response posts, and emails that I have been receiving.
I apologize to those who have shown interest and are frustrated by the lack of response, but I think that it indicates to me that I was premature in saying that I was ready to sell. If I had spent the time working on the car that I have spent reading and answering questions, I might at least have it running by now. IfI can get it started and steerable I may go back to taking it to a shop to get the airmatic operable. At that time I’ll have a better feel for its overall condition and value.
I will continue to check for responses as time will allow but I have to realign my priorities.
