Maybach Pictures
I thought you might enjoy some images of a "real-world" Maybach, not just the press release pics.
The car is phenomenal and the build-quality is absolutely impeccable! The ride is extremely silent and smooth and while it doesn't quite keep up with the SL55, it is faster than most anything on the road. Also very notable is the interior quality; beautifully crafted wood and wonderful smelling suede/leather.
Two other observations; First, while the car has significant presence, driving it feels very personal, neither oversized nor clunky. I would say that the car fits more like a glove than the current S-class and is a surpringly good "drivers car".
Second, the car looks much better in real life than photos (including these) can portray. Size and proportions are just well balanced...
Enjoy!

Btw. The surround sound is just awesome! Watching Lord of the Rings-The two Towers in the car ranks as a Movie Theater experience

I'm at a loss of words... can't begin how to PROPERLY comment the Maybach's beauty. There's so much to do in there I bet you don't get bored very easily.
Thanks for sharing. Was worth waiting for the images to load.
Such an awesome car... is it yours?

I should mention that I only own of of the two (and it isn't the Maybach ), but I had it at my disposal for a while
I hope the pictures bring out how much the car is a step up from other MB's yet it is so familiar with its controls that you feel immediately at home in it.
Did I also mention they clocked the 57 a 0-60 in 4.9 Sec.

I agree, the wood does have that particular 'shine' to it when it's in light. But I'm sure Maybach won't go that cheap route and uses real high quality wood.

With the exception of the upcoming CLS, all Mercedes wood have a high-gloss finish. Some people Like it, some people hate it.
Personally, I find the Maybach wood exceptional up close. Just like in a Rolls, all wood is hand selected and hand finished and burl matched. If a wood with a more linear grain is selected, the grain will match along the various pieces.
The best way I can describe the finish is that it is similar to a grand piano high gloss finish. Thick, yet transparent. Again, not everyone's taste, but my assumption is that this laquer will withstand the temperatures in California, Texas, Florida and Arizona, something that a Rolls or Bentley never could.

that car is so beautiful - maintaining hte interior and keeping it clean must be a full time job!
that car just looks (and im sure build quality and driving it will attest to this) like it was built by hand and NOBODY slakced off on the job.
it's difficult to find words that would do it justice.
i don't mean to be nosey, but may i ask what you do for a living?

Thank you for pictures.
Yes, this thing is truely amazing. Everything is so perfect on it. I heard that the Wood on just the console takes 2 weeks to work. They didn't go cheap on the wood, they went cheap on nothing. You have to see it in person.
I've sat in one before. It's really an experience even just to sit in it. The drivers seat feels like the cokpit of a plane or something, except very very comfortable. There's a multitude of features in there to keep the riders occupied. Two of my favorites are the window shades and the gauges in the backseat.
Once again, nice car and great pics.
Thanks!
edit: Why is the word C ockpit censored?

Wow, that's beautiful and thanks for sharing. The vanity mirrors aren't big enough however! I heard on the radio that Mariah Carey wants the dealership to take her Maybach back because she claims that the vanity mirrors are not big enough for her to see herself. What a Diva!
