C63S Extended Warranty

I haven't been able to find an answer on the forum for what a 5 yr or 7 yr/100,000 mile extended warranty should cost me. Picking my car up next week. Does anyone have an idea what a good or fair deal is on a ext. warranty direct from the MB dealer.

My dealer quoted $9850 for 7/100,000. They also quoted me $3350 for 4 year/40,000 mile PPM.

Hey guys...take a look at this thread: https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...elw-deals.html

It might be worth talking to Marc Rose at W.I. Simonson Mercedes-Benz in Santa Monica (at least you can verify the price your dealer gave you).

Ouch, that seems ridiculous. That would be triple the number for a loaded c300/400. MSRP is only double. JP does that sound right 9K plus.

Yep, I know. Which is why I declined both and the finance guy said I was making a big mistake. I just told him I can live with it. I don't plan on using that dealership again.

I have to buy it as we put that requirement into place for our company cars. I'm hoping that the $6K that Frank69M paid is the max I'll have to pay (the company is only paying a portion of the car as it is "way" over the max purchase $ we set up for co. cars, lol). Thanks much for the feedback guys.

AMG, Porsche, Land Rover, Audi, BMW whatever a partner wants as long as he wants to kick in the extra cash and it has 4 doors (lol). Construction industry is good in the Bay Area.

Keep in mind this is not relating to AMG cars specifically, but in general, extended warranties are statistically not advantageous for the customer. One of the biggest reasons why is that while problems do become more common 4-5 years into the car's life, the repair bills usually do not reach the price paid for the extended warranty.

Same thing in general for any insurance. Otherwise, no insurance company would be left standing financially. As always, the question is if you are able to withstand the hit financially if something does happen.

careful there. they might be buying you a smart, then you can pay all the extra upgrade to anything you want. LOL

With this being an amg v8 bi-turbo motor, i am curious whether "the repair bills usually do not reach the price paid for the extended warranty" holds true.

My guess would be that $6K for 100K mile warranty is a safe bet. New AMG factory, new motor, new design and super high HP and torque will hopefully all come together wonderfully but we'll still take the bet. I'm really hoping this car is perfect as I have had nothing but problems with my 750 li since purchase and I'm tired (LOL). I'd like to keep this as a second car or my 12 year old daughter's (when she's 17 of course) car after the 5 years I have to keep it as a company car. Be great to see it live successfully for 10 years and 180K plus miles without imploding like my 750li.

This is my first Mercedes after many BMW's and I'm super hoping it's a great experience. If not, on to Audi.
