LeMans?

Did anyone catch any of the LeMans 24 hours on Speed this past weekend. LeMans is always so interesting to watch, at least in small doses. And while the Audis seem to dominate in P1, at least their move to the Diesel powered R10 is very innovative.

I caught an hour of it - 24 hrs is not only endurance racing, but also endurance spectating!

Track looked good; it is 6 miles long(!).

I will look up the results today.....

AMG
The Corvette (GT1) and Panoz (GT2) entries did well, as did the R10 (of course).

I caught some of it. Wish that MB had the CLK running (or flying, lol) in it again.

You're right about the endurance spectating, but the track is actually 8.4835 miles long...

http://www.silhouet.com/motorsport/tracks/lemans.html I liked the pre 2002 layout better with the shorter esses past the Dunlop Bridge.

Or really, I liked the pre-1991 version with the full 4 mile Mulsanne Straight without the two chicanes.

Here in the US, the race started at 10am central time on Saturday, and therefore, finished at 10am on Sunday, leaving plenty of time Sunday afternoon for Father's Day activities with my kids and grandkids. Don't know about Europe, super noob.
