Even if McLaren had not been suspended they WOULD NOT HAVE WON CONSTRUCTORS TITLE....

Read it and wept boys......

The FIA have finally been able to calculate how much money McLaren will fork out for their role in Stepneygate.

McLaren originally escaped unpunished after they were found guilty of unauthorised possession of confidential Ferrari technical information during the course of year's Championship.

However, the team were docked all their Constructors' Championship points in September after a successful appeal by Ferrari.

In addition to the points deduction the World Motor Sport Council also handed them an unprecedented fine of $100million minus the income they would have earned in this year's Constructors' Championship.

The full penalty was finally calculated after the season's conclusion at the Brazilian Grand Prix.

The Woking team would have finished second behind Ferrari by just one point given that the team was banned from scoring any points at the Hungarian Grand Prix costing them a total of 15 points.

They have now been ordered to pay 'a sum in excess of $50million' for their indiscretion and the money will be used to promote motor sport safety across the globe.

"Following the judgement of the World Motor Sport Council on 13 September, a sum in excess of $50million will be paid in December to the FIA," the sport's ruling body said in a statement.

"This will be used to establish the FIA Development Fund, which will assist the work of National Sporting Authorities (ASNs) in promoting the development of safer motor sport worldwide, especially in countries where the motor sport infrastructure is in need of support.

"Representatives from Mercedes and Ferrari will be invited to join the Fund's board."

McLaren would have won it if Ferrair was penalized for their illegal floating floor. Winning with a clearly illegal device and not being penalized shows the truth. There are rules for Ferrari and rules for everyone else. Mosely even said this week that Ferrari is the most important team in F1 so of course things go their way.

A guy and his son walk into a Ferrari store... the guy asks the Ferrari store worker about an official Ferrari uniform for his son. The worker says "Fine, do want you want official Ferrari uniform for a driver, a pit crew member or a FIA Steward?" AAAHAHAHAHAhahahaAHAHAHA!!!!

If you feel that way then please explain why in the Japanese race Ferrari had to bring in both cars to change the tires at the start even though the FIA stewards admitted that Ferrari had not recieved the email in time for the race?

Let's face it gentlemen, the better team and the better man won the constructors championship on point alone and the better man, he won more races this year than any other driver.......

Hey man... it's a joke. Chill out. I am actually ecstatic for Kimi's win... anything that denies arrogant golden boy from a WDC is good in my book.

Bro you've got to let it go. Ferrari won this year fair and square - well as 'fair and square' as it gets in F1

It's all a bunch of marketing hoopla. You've gotta admit that the days of Senna/Prost/Mansell dueling it out are long gone. Mika vs MS was probably the last, and even that wasn't fun.

this year was actually quite interesting especially after the summer. the build up to the final gp was unbeleivable along with the result.

i dont see how it is so different from the days of prost, senna, mansell or mika & schumi,

2007 is going to go down as one of the best years in F1 (on track).

All cars including Ferraris went through and passed the FIA standardized test for moving floors (some 500 Newtons of force). Even though they were requiring the cars to be subjected and pass this particular test the FIA was also saying that all aero components should be rigitly mounted implying that they shouldn't be moving. To me this is too vage, all components will bend under enough pressure so where do you stop? That's why after McLaren's complain the FIA increased the pressure to 2000 Newtons.

This is a competitive environment all teams try to optimize their car, if the test is calling for 500Newtons, it would be stubid to over-engineer the component so that it can pass and surpass the test with a bigger margin and therfore make the car slower. That's why I believe the FIA didn't penalize Ferrari, simply because their cars were inspected and passed before the race. Just my 2c. from what I read on the press.

Um, who cares, isn't the season over? Congrats to Ferrari & if your a Ferrari fan enjoy your victory. Anything being brought up now by either team is a moot point.
