75th Anniversary of the Silver Arrows

At this past weekend's German Grand Prix, Mercedes was celebrating the 75th anniversary of the silver arrows - bringing out the W25, W125, W154/M163 and W196.

Mercedes was celebrating the 75th anniversary of the silver arrows - with the first being the 'little' W25. This is the W125, and it fits my definition of a monster. Same straight-8, but now 5.7 liters and 646 bhp. Same tall and skinny tires and drum brakes. The W125 could exceed 200 mph, and might have been capable of 250. It was mastered by Cariccola, who won the equivalent of the WDC with it in 1937.
