US Grand Prix Circuit De Americas On Hold Indefinately.
I hate to say told you so to all the "experts" out there, but I pretty much called this a year ago....Where are all you guys that argued with me about what a great location and draw Austin, TX would be? Please feel free to insert your foot in your mouth now, LOL. Interest in tickets is much lower than anticipated and corporate sponsoship is even less. Now there's a rift between track owners, the state and Bernie. FAIL.

Good news...now they can focus on the "New York" grand prix.
If there's going to be any chance for f1 success in the US, you have to bring the race to where the fans are, and Texas ain't it. Yeeee haaaw

You are 100% correct. I made that argument on another thread well over a year ago but I got flamed by all the "experts" for voicing the obvious. New York is one of the places I named, as well as a streets course down Las Vegas Blvd. Both would be insane fan draws...Austin, TX not so much.

Sounds like typical Bernie antics. Wheter they hold the race in Texas or not, it's a stupid place to hold a race, I will not be purchasing any tickets to the event and I even own a home in Texas(Dallas) and still will not attend.

I will be disappointed. However, Mrs. Wayne would prefer a trip to Montreal.
I don't get the State backing out on the $25m. They do it for all of the "acceptable" sporting events: Final Four, Superbowl, etc.

Can't wait to go to this next year myself!
If you've never been to a F1 race, well it's definitely a thrill but the race is rarely wheel to wheel.
But in open wheel racing that is better sometimes (see Dan Wheldon).
The engine starting off on a Friday AM practice session is hair on arm raising.

I'm in NW Houston. 2 hours, + or -, from the track. I have friends who live closer. I'm going to buy the 3 day pass & stay with them.
