Here's the first shot released of the new C-class race car for 2004.
It tested for the first time last weekend. The drivers like it, say it sets up better than the old CLK. Be interesting to see how it does now that Audi is participating with a full works effort.

With top names behind the wheel of the C-class Audi is going to have it's work cut out for it in searching for drivers.
And Cadillac CTS enters SpeedChannel series too.

No, each company builds its own engines. The specs for the engines are fairly rigid. They must be 4 liter 90 degree V8's weighing at least 165 kilograms. The cylinder bore spacing must be 102 mm. The camshafts must be chain driven.Originally posted by Jim's500E

Someone once posted (in this forum I think) that all of the competing manufacturers buy the same engine block from a common supplier. I was never able to confirm this, but considering how rigid the rules are, especially those concerning the block, it wouldn’t surprise me (makes sense from a cost-effectiveness point of view). The rules concerning engine internals are also pretty strict, so it almost makes sense for the entire short block to come from a common supplier.Originally posted by Lynn
