Are the majority of MB engines interchangeable from model to model? ie, is the E430 engine the same as the CLK430? Are the wiring harnesses the same? Could you swap an E class 430 engine into a CLK?

If one were to get a complete AMG 5.4 and tranny from a wrecked vehicle, would it bolt right into a regular CLK if it came with the correct wiring harness?

 

Yes you could put an E430 engine in a CLK. They're both M112 engines. Also yes the 5.4L would fit in a CLK also.

 

badfkr98SS, is your M6 a euro or american. My friend has an 85 Euro M6 with the Feahe (sp?) crank. The M6 is beautiful, congrats.

 

I think M6 might mean 6-speed manual, or some type of mod he did to his camaro. I don't think it is M6 as in the old BMW sports coupe.

 

You are probably correct. When I look at all of the stuff in the signature the only thing I see is M6!
