Climate control or fan ??
I am having an issue with my ac fan. When I adjust up to turn up the fax I hear it incress untill the third or fourth indicator bar. then as the bars move up the fan stays the same speed. So only blows about half speed. Any ideas? is it the fan motor or the climate control pad? If its the pad is it repair or replace? Living in Phoenix at 100+ everyday I need all the blow I can get . Thanks guys.Rod Spohn

going to the dealership on weds. Incidently, I was reading another post which idicated it could possibly be the wire harness (less power due to poor quality connection.). See the wire harness post above, read through the comments. I'll let you know what the dealer finds.

Unfortunately, I don't have much to report at this time. Brought the car in. After 4 hours of waiting, they informed me that the car had a clogged hose, resulting in water dripping into the "cabin". Since they didn't have said hose in stock, I would have to come back at another time to "evaluate" the other A/C issues. After replacing the hose, they would then troubleshoot.

Liz thanks
Liz I am finding out a little each day & think I know what it may be now. Its as you mentioned, a part of the wireing . Its a sencor at the fan. About $200 plus depending where you buy it. I will let you know if this is it as soon as I get it ordered and installed. Likewise if you learn anything from the dealer let me know and Thank you

Liz this is a copied not from a good guy on here thats been a great help in the past......
I do not have a local guy, but know guys at Phoenix Motors that would put you in touch with a good indy mechanic. I do all my own A/C work, so I don't usually need their assistance. BTW, I had a similar problem with my S420, replacing the speed sensor cured it. The part is around $200 on eBay and about 20 minutes to change.

rod, spoke with my neighbor, who is a mechanic, he said sounds like a vaccuum leak. checked the website. typed in a/c under search, pg. 3 midway down, "a/c center vents", tightened a loose vacuum hose which fixed the problem. just thought I'd mention this as it seems the cheapest way to begin troubleshooting. the guy used twisty ties or something like that. incidently, he said the vaccuum hose is next to the maf sensor.

okay rod. finally, they fixed a/c. here are the parts they replaced:
for the whining sound: replaced hose from condenser to rec/drier. (was leaking). car is still whining.
no air from floor vents: repositioned air duct.
no controls for rear vents: replaced blower motor
center vents not working, bars rising, fan is not: vac. valve leaking from resevoir. removed right front wheelwell liner to gain access, replaced vaccuum resevoir. assembled from parts kit to repl/repair line at resevoir to vacc. block.
fluid leaking into cabin: replaced left side evap. tray drain tube.
hope this helps.
