Telephone Acting Up (most, '05 C55, V710)

Integrated phone worked great for several months - then started acting up. Here are the symptoms:
1. Phone no longer turns off when the vehicle is turned off. Charges fine when the most ring is activated and / or vehicle on - but doesn't turn off as is designed to do. The battery charging does stop.
2. Phone initiates a call as normal (either dialing or address book) but within seconds of the call connecting - several beeps happen and the phone turns off completely or resets - both times dropping the call.
Strange enough, if the phone stays docked and goes through an engine start / stop cycle - all is back to normal until is un-docked and docked again.
Any advice would be great....
Thanks,
Ken.

I have heard of all kinds of problems with the Mercedes phone systems that were cured by updating the phone firmware. I truly feel that Mercedes should employ one person to publish all of the correct firmware versions and bug fix notices for cradle systems.
Clearly your phone is not behaving in a manner which correctly recognises in-car operation. Try updating the phone software first.
Same applies to Nokia, Siemens and so on.
