Misc. Mercedes OEM parts(where)????

Hey guys,

Just picked up a georgous 98' C43 silver with 45,000. Gonna post some pics on the C43 section this afternoon.

Couple small issues with the car though. The 6 disc sleeve that inserts into the disc changer is missing. Where the hell do you find that one?????

Also, the mercedes star that is mounted above the AMG logo on the engine cover is missing. Not important but I want it perfect.

Lastly, the front passenger side interior bulb is out along with the dash light behind the gas gage(must be a ***** to replace huh...).

I was going to call the local benz dealer for parts but wanted to price shop first. Any ideas???? I've looked around online but didn't have luck.

THANKS.

If the interior bulbs are anything like the CLKs, then it's probably just a festoon bulb that you can pick up at autozone for like $1 -- you should be able to take off the cover and replace it in like 2 minutes.

The one behind the gas gauge is probably a huge pain in the *** though... I know I have an LED that went out behind the dash as well, and I've been pondering whether or not it's worth messing with it myself. I'm pretty sure the dealership will come up with something stupid like replacing the whole instrument cluster...

Hi there, I have a few spare sleeves around I'll be happy to sell them to you at half of whatever price quote you get from the dealer.

That would have been great bud. However I was in need and I gave up so I went ahead and called the dealer. Surprisingly they had one in stock and it was only $20.00. The bulbs where a buck or two as well. Not so bad!

Rarely do things work out cheap and easy for me(except for girls) so I was happy.

However, Finding just the star that inserts above the AMG logo on the engine cover will be tough. The dealer only sells the entire cover for $100.00

Good to hear it worked out! You know, even if I were to give away mine free, shipping would have been easily $10 as I'm in Canada!

Don't bother with the AMG logo, close the hood and enjoy the car!
