Brake squeel only in reverse?
I just did a brake job with oem pads and rotors on my e55. Other than the dust, they stop great and run quiet. But, when I back up and stop I get a squeel. What gives? Why only in reverse (not that I want any in drive). I used the proper squeel paste and everything. Any ideas?

Give it some time (500 miles?)....it should stop....then come back intermittently when the conditions are right (temp, humidity, usage, etc.). Why just rear? I dunno, but mine did the same.

If it's any consolation Driver55er, I have the same problem on my SL600. Replaced four rotors and all brake pads with all OEM parts and followed the break-in procedure to the letter. Car stops great, but occasionally the stupid thing squeaks a bit in reverse. I agree with mleskovar; seems to be intermittent and perhaps is dependant on the alignment of the planets or an Elvis sighting. Seriously though, I've stopped worrying about it.
