I had Denso in my BMW M3, but they did not work as good for me I replaced with Bosch +4 and it worked good for about 30,000 miles then I replaced them with NGK Iradium and they worked wonders.

I am asking recommendation for the SL500. I am thinking about the NGK Iradium IX right now, but I am not sure how these have responded to the V8 engine of the Benz (113). any ideas?????????

It is generally best to stay with the same type of plug the car originally came with. People have reported problems trying to use something 'better'.

I just put Bosch Plat +4 in my ML430 and it seems very smooth now - almost cannot hear the engine when idling or cruising slowly. The original Bosch Platins (single gap) had 111K on them and were pretty worn out with the sides of the ceramic towers worn down at an angle although they still seemed to run fine. I really just notice the smoothness at low idle being better than before. As far as power goes I don't notice anything different. Only had them in a few days now so can't say anything for MPG yet.

It seems to me in my experience that most MBZ owners that went away from the Bosch to try something "hotter" or "better" ended up coming back to the Bosch's...and some of them had problems with the other plugs that they went to if I remember correctly. I'd say stick with the Bosch's. That's what I do.

I used the NGK Iradium and the car idles 1000% better and runs like it's sliding on butter.
