I have a 1969 280SE Convertible and it's original build card. I would like to know which box contains the interior code and how to translate it.

 

A dealer would be the best bet for this info, or MB itself.

 

Not sure of the box number. Possibly #8.
Look for the german word "Ausstattung" which is "interior trim code."

When you have found the trim code, try this web site for further clarafication of the code: slack.net/~thundt/mercedes/

The code is #248 but not listed on the website offered. Thanks ... At least I have a place to start!!

 

#248 doesn't sound like a interior code but wrather a "option" code for "heated rear laminated window glass for chassis 114 & 115 models.
