Engine Trouble Codes

Has anyone used the The INNOVAŽ 3100 OBD II Code Reader on a Benz '98' E430?

I don't want to plug it in and smell smoke

I don't think it would smoke..... I have a simular code reader that has become a great help in working on my S320. From the web site for your reader it only lists 1 MB to not us it on. Try it you'll like it..

Hmmm...

I guess I will give it a try if I have a chance this weekend because I am getting a "Check Engine Electronics" error message. I will update this post with the results.

Done!

Ok I tried the reader and it was a tight fit (virgin?) and got the following codes:
P0170 Fuel Trim Malfunction (Bank 1) check vaccum leaks first or
faulty MAF (mass air flow) sensor
P0173 Fuel Trim Malfunction (Bank 2)

Just bought one of those gadgets. Works fine. I bought it for my ford but is is really handy for my MB. I got the p0170 code on my ml320. Took out the MAF, cleaned it, put it back in, reset the CEL and it worked. The fuel trim is a two trip signal so it takes a while to know if the problem is corrected. I would recommend one of these scanners for anyone who is interested in knowing something about their vehicle.
