Unhappy intermittent wiper setting doesn't work - slow fast work fine.

Hi all. I just joined mbworld.org. I have a 1997 C280 Sport. Just yesterday I noticed that my intermittent wiper settings does not work. The slow and fast work fine ... only the intermittent doesn't work. There was snow on my car (with ice), and I was trying to clean the wiper housing. Did I damage something? If slow and fast work fine, I want to assume that the motor is OK, and that there is a fuse, or electrical problem. Can someone help? I don't want to go to the dealer, because it is typically too expensive ... even for them to tell me what is wrong.

Thank you.
Louis

intermittent

Does your car have auto wipers? If so it will be the sensor faulty otherwise i would say it will more than likely be the indicator stalk.

It takes a "relay" or "control box" to electronically create intermittancy.

Probably what your problem is, either the unit itself or connections to it.

Listen to the first reply of your post. The fine-tune variable portion of intermittent wipe comes from a variable resistor in stalk I believe. I don't think you damaged anything.

Its neve been down to a relay it will either be the stalk or the sensor if fitted relays either work or they dont! If the connections were faulty then why do slow and fast work and also the indicators?

i drive a bmw e30 also that problem ,i checked that is the sensor that at the motor inside is broken , maybe you should check the control box 1st , if the control box is ok ,much probly is the sensor(the snsr is detect the rotor how far it gone .)
