1995 e320 running hot
Hi, looking for some help. I have checked the oil and the coolant and they are at normal levels. The temp gauge rises to 120 very quickly within driving of 10 miles or between 5-10 minutes. I recently replaced the air blower around Christmas time cost plus labor $750. Do you think it could be a sticky thermostat or should I have the radiator flushed and replace the thermostat too ? What do ya'll think ? Any one know of approximate costs ?

Welcome, fellow Livonian! Does the problem appear only on the freeway, in stop-and-go, or both? Do you know if the cooling fan comes on when the car is warmed and idling?

Has feeling the surface of the radiator been tried? If the radiator has blocked or restricted passages, then that area will be cooler than the rest.
With the engine cool, remove the radiator cap, then start the engine. It is possible to observe the effect of flow, by examining the fluid at the cap. If no flow, from an obstruction or bad pump, then that may be seen.

The fan is ok. Radiator is ok. I removed the old thermostat and replaced it. I put the old one in hot water to see if the mechanism would move it didn't. Thanks for the replies it helps sharing info.

Ole', fellow Livonian I replaced the thermostat and drove it around the town yesterday for 45 minutes on freeway and off and stop and go. The thermostat stayed around 80 to 90 and didn't go any higher. Send me a message and we'll get together and compare notes. Thanks for the reply
