95 S600 wiring harness replacement: cost?

95 S600 wiring harness replacement: cost?
Hello,

I'm shopping for a '95 to '98 vintage S500 or S600 coupe. A dealer just emailed me - 9x (somewhere in that range) S600 with a possibly bad wiring harness. Of course I will have a pre-purchase inspection done, and if that turns out to be the case, I would expect a serious discount.

Here's the interesting bit - I just saw http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT this on ebay. Scroll all the way to the bottom. $6k for a full tune-up, wiring harness, and brake job. Is this in line with usual repair costs?

An S600 is a fairly rare and very expensive machine. I would expect maintenance and repair costs to be substantially higher than average.

The "body" harness does go bad on the 140's sometimes. And yes $6k for a complete tune up, new harness, and brakes could very well be accurate.
