06 SLK280 7SP Auto - no power on hard launch
All -
New 06 SLK280, 350 miles so far. Has the 7spd auto. Car drives fine under normal acceleration from a stop, but today I was stopped while waiting to turn left in front
of traffic, and when a hole opened up I mashed the gas down about 1/2 way. To my surprise
the car hesitated and stumbled, almost fuel-starved it seemed. No knocking, no codes, no stalling, just couldn't get the rpm's up and the tranny seemed to buck a little. I quickly pressed the gas again and it still stumbled. Finally I eased into the gas and it moved off OK and I got thru the turn.
Any TSB's or such for this issue, or anyone have similar experience? The build date was late Feb. 06 I think.
TIA for any tips or ideas... this was not fun, esp. with oncoming traffic! Whew!

Try to do it again, and see if you ESP light went on at the same time. If ESP detects excessive wheel spin it will literally close your throttle to control spin. Sounds exactly like what you are talking about. The 7 Speed has had its problems, but that describes none of them.
