300se (W126) Steering wont go down, sound but no movement
heres the details of my car:
300se (w126) - yr:1988
here is my problem:
I puled the little switch by the side of the steering wheel to bring the steering forward... Now when i try to lower it back down it wont go down.
When I pull it up (to make steering go up) the motor makes a sound but cant come up anymore as its already at its max. but when I push it down (to make steering go down) it does not even make a sound nor go down for that matter.
Is there a manual way to adjust the steering back down, as its really hard to drive with the steering back all the way.
is there a tool or something to lower it back down manually?
Can anyone tell me how to take out the motor, to change it maybe.
thanx in advance...

From what I have read here and other places it is usually more than the motor and may require replacement of the steering column. It also could be just the switch.
