Hesitation in our new C240

This problem has been driving me and my wife nuts for the longest time.

When backing out of our driveway, we go into drive (after coming to a complete stop) and then hit the gas. There is about 1 second of nothing, like the car has not realized we hit the gas. Anyone else have this problem?? We are pretty pissed about it and our dealership says nothing is wrong. They did change the MAF sensor but bot you and I know that more of a political we are doing something to try statement (which was nice).

Anyone else have this problem? Solutions?

We are not two footed drivers either. There is an actual TSB out on that.

Thanks,

Eric

I hate to use the cliche "They all do that" but, well, they all do that. There is a momentary lag between the time you hit the gas and the time the car takes off. Nothing is wrong, it just takes a little longer for the electronic accelerator pedal to read how hard you're pressing the pedal, transfer the info to the ME control unit, and actuate the throttle. It's not a direct linkage between your foot and the engine anymore. I know it's annoying, but there is no fix for it.

Thanks. I hate to hear that but I guess that is the deal.

Do you know the appropiate channel I can get a formal complaint in to someone where it can be heard? My wife hates that and it annoy's me just a tad but not much.

At least now we know to deal with it instead of searching for an answer.

Thanks,

Eric

Welcome to the new world of e-drive by wire!

Best that you avoid flooring the accelerator, but apply gas gradually; like "squeezing" the trigger versus jerking it. It helps minimize the "hole" experience.
