95 C220 engine noise
Has anyone had trouble with a noise from a C220 that sound like piston slap, but is comming from the head? The lower end has been rebuilt and the head was suppose to have been reworked too. It is not a metalic sounding slap, but a light constant rattle. Has there ever been a problem with the cam followers making noise in there bores. Any input would be helpful as no shop has been able to figure this out yet.

What mileage is on the engine?. You say the head was supposed to have been reworked???. What type of oil are you using ?.
Sounds like it could be a noisy hydraulic tappet, if it is a change of oil to a lighter grade can often cure the problem.
