Brake Squeel and when do you service this cars (mileage)

1. We have an annoying brake squeel on our C240 ('02). Is there something I can do to rid this or should we just take it back in?

2. Should we get the car serviced by the computer or by 10,000 miles?

Thanks,

ERic

1. Tell your dealer the brakes are squeaking. If they're not worn to the point they should be replaced, the dealer will most likely remove the pads, clean them, and put more brake pad paste on them.

2. Get the car serviced when the computer tells you to. Many people don't trust the FSS indicator, but having been to training on how the system works, I'm a strong believer in it. Years of engineering have gone into developing the system, and it's a lot more advanced than some would think. If I get around to it, I'll open a new thread going into detail on how the FSS determines when your next service should be.

Thanks.

1. I definitely will then.

2. Ours will comd do at around 13,400 miles. I take my Dodge Dakota 15,000 on a short period on Mobil 1. I am a strong believer in Mobil 1.
