Replace entire H7 headlight unit with a xenon unit.

Around $1000-$1500 per side.

If you add the xenon as a retrofit I believe you will not have the auto leveling. This is quite important and effects the legality in a number of States. From what I understand its not possible or financially practical to add the auto leveling. Lots of guys have retrofitted though and many are operating illegally and could have a problem with a State Inspection if caught.

2005 C Wagon (No snickering please!)
Auto leveling and headlight washer is mandatory per federal motor vehicle safety standard. You need it in all 50 states. Some check, some don't.

The auto leveling is not so hard to install, but the headlight washer is a workout. The workshop manual has a section to retrofit xenon lamps, but the kit includes a bumper (not painted), lamp assemblies, level sensors, wiring harness for leveling, and a box of hoses and fittings for the washer, and a new light switch with washer button. Put your hand over your wallet folks, they sell the kit for about 5,000 Euro's in Europe!

Steve at MBenzNL.com is a sponsor of this forum, and usually has genuine lamp assemblies. He is much more wallet friendly, and works carefully and neatly.
