Since your model car has a 722.6 transmission the first step in diagnostic is scanning for any codes, all modules.

sorry for being cryptic. was in a hurry to go somewhere. okay, this ECU
reset
has been suggested by others to solve the adaptive transmission
feature....not to resolve what you describe. it's worth a try, however,
since it's free and takes a couple of mins.

note, however, that I had a 2000 E320 with very similar ailment. Dealer
could not fix, so the tranny was replaced under Starmark. had it been so
easy as a reset, they probably would have done it that way. no doubt
they tried that, as well as replacing the tranny control module. took
several trips to the dealer. after tranny replaced, no more lurching when
coming to a stop between 2nd and 1st gear.

i have a year 2000 e320. I've experience with the transmission today. When drive, it doesn't change stays on gear 1 and not change at all, the miles driving = to the rpm speed...can't go more than 40 miles per an hour, else kill the engine.

When it's on drive, I try to shift it to reverse or park, the transmission get locked. I have to let go the break at N and then shift it to R or P.

Can you tell me how to reset the ECU? Please let me know if you have any suggestion...thanks
