Question Before, when I removed the key, the light used to come on for a little bit

When I first got my car - (before I experimented with the lightswitches), when I pulled out my key, the interior lights would come on and then slowly dim out.

Then, a week or two ago, I started playing with the lightswitches, trying to figure out what they were for, and I lost that functionality!

So, now, I have tried pushing the left button (on the sunroof console area) and I still can't get it to work right. I hope somebody can solve this mystery, because I DO LIKE HAVING the light come on when I pull out my key, so that I can gather up my purse, cell phone, etc. before I open the door.

I looked in the manual and it doesn't talk about this.

(To clarify, the lights come on when I open the door. It used to come on for a little bit after I removed my key and then would slowly dim out.)

Help ?

You usually have 3 settings on the light system on the panel where you open the sunroof etc, well you do on mine

Left depressed: Lights always on
Right depressed: Nothing at all, even when door open
Even: Light should come on when you open the door.

In the dashboard computer system, there is also the 'lightening' setup. I'm not sure, without checking exactly, but there are options also there to control the lights. I think you'll find what you want in the dashboard computer.

Check and play around there...
