Which merc to chose?

hi, fairly new to the forum, and Im just about to get rid of my 997S (with some mods) to get a new project car.
I have searched a bit, and I think Im going to go with a Merc as my project car. However, being fairly new to benz(although i love them), I do not know much about it...
im building a car mainly for track purpose, so im guessing that takes away the SL, E, and S classes because they are too heavy, although they have great potential for highway power..

Im looking at a maximum power of approximlate 600whp or maybe slighty beyond that, which of the merc lineup today would give me the best platform?
i have pinned it down to CLK or SLK? suggestions and opinions?

Dont count out the SL600 with Renntech mods.....a four door isnt fun for the track to me. Maybe a used SL65

those cars are great! but in a tuner's point of view, i think they are a bit heavy, which will injury the time around a track. For instance, around the nurburgring, the SL55 actually LAPS a QUICKER lap around compared to the SL65! the huge engine in the front makes the car oversteer too much (commented by a previous SL65 owner)

cls 55 amg, clk 320
did you consider the slk55black or clk 63.

I would also like to tell you that most of the AMG cars are fit for track use.
They are also used as pace cars in F1

yes i have considered the two, and actually im leaning towards the CLK63 more...more power to spare and possibly lower the budget of my project..
