I am very new at this so please bare with me. I go into my deal with SRS light on. No worries it is under warranty. Replace 5 001-540-87-05 EL cables, 1 001-540-88-05 and 20 002-546-13-41 cable connec and 1 072581-000302. SRS is gone.
I get a call that car is not ready and needs overnight, no worries. I get it today all aside from the above being addressed I see the below
PERFORM CAMPAIGN # 2006020008 - 7223.6 PILOT BUSHING
1 203-540-01-53 Spacer
1 140-991-00-55 Lock Pin
1 TF00136 CAMPAIGN
-------------------------------------------
What does that mean, aside from fixing something what are the spacer or the pilot bushing?
thanks guys

This is a service campaign to inspect and replace the transmssion electrical connector "pilot bushing" . Basically it is a plastic connector housing with a couple of sealing rings where the transmission electrical connector plugs in. The part is referred to as a spacer. The locking tab is for the transmission dipstick cover, to lock it in place after correcting fluid level.
MB observed a problem with the pilot bushings not sealing properly and issued a campaign to replace them with an updated part as a precaution whether it is leaking or not.
Your car is checked for open service campaigns every time you bring it in for service and repairs are made as specified by MBZ.
