W201 190E 2.3 ('87) Fuel Pump Test (????)

The car will start one day and next minute it won't start. If the car would start the first or second try, the car would be OK for the time being. But if it failed the initial start, it will not start at all or wait for several long hours to get it started.

I suspect the culprit could be the fuel pump, fuel accumulator, fuel pressure regulator, leaking injector/s, vacuum leak, etc or something else. How do I test the fuel pump, and residual fuel pressure in a W201 car? I have a fuel injector fuel gauge kit for CIS.

Would really appreciate any advise, tips, suggestions, etc. Thanks in advance

TD
