mbtech208 - programming options

mbtech208 - Is there any way for us owners to view a list of the options that are available when programming our cars - for instance, the chirp option. I know on my Lexus LS400 one of the options we had was the amount of time our headlights would stay on after we removed the key and the amount of ambient daylight required for the automatic headlights to turn on.

If a list was available of the various DAS computer options, it would likely fill a good sized book. Many Many options and settings... And -- for each "Country" you set the system to, options and such change. It's almost like an endless topic.

DrNick, there are a number of features which can be modfied using the buttons on the steering wheel. How long the headlights stay on is one of them. The alarm chirp is not. The dealer must change that. It is in the "Norway" seeting of the DAS.

1- How do I do the option choices from the steering wheel? Is it dealer work or can I play with some options?
2- Various posts here and on the MBNZ.org site have mentioned the "Norway" setting and others have made reference to the "Netherlands" setting. Is it Norway, Netherlands or does it matter?
Thanks for your responses,
Nick

Read you manual. It will tell you how to modify a small handful of choices via the onbard dash computer.

My manual does not address the headlight on time option. It has some choices of languages but not much more. (2000 E320)

Then you can not set Headlight/Time off options on the 2000 E I guess. If you could, the manual would tell you how. I think I remeber hearing this before when I lept telling someone on Benz Sport that their E could set Light options and they kept telling me it could not.

My solution - if the lights go off too soon I'll walk faster and visa versa. No problema. Thank you, AWiner and Lynn, for your responses.
