2001 e55 brakes

hi all and happy thxgiving -

i've been enjoying my new 2001 E55 the past 24 hrs and will be posting pix shortly...weather's been a bit wet for good pix.

one thing i've noticed thus far is that the brakes are terrific, but when i'm only driving 5-10 miles/hr, the initial 1/4 to 1/2 inch of the pedal is very touchy, almost as if it grabs the disc very suddenly. we have 2 other E320/w210 wagons that are smoother. also, from what i recall from driving other E55's, they seem to resemble our wagons abdn e smoother.

btw, the front brakes have 8mm and the rear's are at 10mm and only about 700 miles old. what are the main variables that could cause this, and are there things that i can try to check out to isolate the cause?

brakes

hi all,

as a follow-up and being very non-techie, what are the chances that this brake sensitivity is due to warped discs(though very smooth at 5mph+) or is there anything in the fluids that may be a factor in causing this sensitivity and the inability to stop smoothly at low speeds? are there any other variables that could cause this?
