2003 E500 TeleAide Malfunction Message

When I bought my 2003 E500 from the MB dealer in Sept 2005, I had no error messages from the TeleAide service for several months. But now I get a Teleaide Malfunction message on the display and have to push the dash reset button after starting the vehicle to remove the message. The MB dealer service department told me that there is no way to stop the malfunction message from appearing (it's pretty annoying) other than to renew the Teleaide service which I don't need or want. Do you have any advice on how to get this Malfunction error message to to stop appearing without renewing the Teleservice? Someone on this forum told me that there is supposed to be a TSB at the MB Dealers that fixes this malfunction message from appearing?

Not that I've ever seen- if you don't subscribe, it shows up. With the newer digital teleaid, it can be shut off.

I took the vehilce to the dealer yesterday they said the Tele Aid needs a module and had to order it. The Malfunction notice stopped occurring after I had some service last Aug but reappeared just recently again without explanation. We'll see if this fixes the Mafunction messages when I take the vehicle back into the dealer this Friday.

I had the same problem until I installed my navigation, which required a new splitter for the GPS antenna. Now it no longer comes up, so it may have been something in the connectors. Check the antenna connector to make sure its nice and tight, it is on the left quarter panel right next to the trunk hinge.

Edward.

Okay, the warranty work for module replacement at the MB Dealer on Friday did the trick.......no more Malfunction error message on my dash Display. There is a way now apparently to get rid of the Display Malfunction when you no longer have the TeleAid service.
