Spark Plugs
Any recommendations? My car has 145,000km (91,000 miles) and I plan to replace the spark plugs for my W203 at the next service.

I am using Bosch double Platinums now and haven't had a problem. Had to go to the dealer on a seperate issue and they said they are fine. It is a huge pain to change them though. Good luck. Be careful not to wreck your wires in the process.

spark plugs & other things
Just picked up a new '07 E550. Dealer gave my 9k for my '97 C280
sport, 97k miles. Owners manual say plugs last 100k miles and you never need to change trans fluid. Does this make sense?

he may have gave you 9k for the 97' but what did you pay for the 550? Its a buyers market right now. I dont believe any dealer would hardly turn down any offer. Had friend who bought new 06 SL55AMG for 77k cash. Had sticker of 120 plus plus plus. Curious how well they treated you. Thanks

Bosch IR Fusion. It has the four grounds of the Platunim +4 with iridium technology. Work great in my cars. Check them out: http://www.boschautoparts.com/Produc...s/IrFusion.htm
According to the Bosch database, the part number for this plug for your car is: 4501

03 E500 and Corvette
I run the NGK Iridium in my Corvette. They were the factory installed plug. Suppose to last 100,000 miles. I pulled them at 40,000 miles and the itridium tip on 2 was no longer there. I assume it went through the engine. The tip is about the size of a pin head. Apparently didn't hurt the engine. It still has NGK Iridium 100,000 miles and I will change them at 40,000 to check the tips. So I might consider another brand given the tip issue. But then you might not run your Mercedes like I do my Corvette.
I would consider just using Mercedes plugs.
