difference between w170 and r170 slk230??
Hi there,
Can anyone tell me the difference between w170 series and the r170 series of the slk230?? Forgive my ignorance... I'm looking to buy my 1st slk230.

OLD: 2004 C230 Sport Sedan, NEW: 2007 SLK350
(There is no w170 model for the SLK)
The SLK has only had 2 models so far.
* R170
* R171
R170: This was the first hard-top convertible in their lineup, and was infamous for being too girly.
Depending on your location, you could choose from the following models:
* SLK 200 (unavailable in the US)
* SLK 200 Kompressor (unavailable in the US)
* SLK 230 Kompressor
* SLK 320
* SLK 32 AMG
R171: This is the current model (first released for 2005) with the SLR nose. Bigger, longer, wider and more powerful. Again, depending on your location, you can choose from the following models:
* SLK 200 Kompressor (unavailable in the US)
* SLK 280 (first released for 2006)
* SLK 350
* SLK 55 AMG
