Special Tool? Rear Upper Control Arm

Long story short, rough driving lead me to bending the right rear upper control arm on my 2005 C230 K.

I put it on the rack and tried to align it, after noticing the steering wheel off center and the right rear wheel showing some serious negative camber. Unfortunatly when I saw there is no camber adjustment I quickly noticed the control arm.

My problem is, I'm used to working on Honda's all day so when I ran into this I was a little thrown off. I already have the parts but I'm having some difficulty locating, but more so putting a name to the tool I need to remove the control arm itself. The bolt looks like it needs a rather large double hex/ or 12 pt torx. The Snap-On truck shows up Monday but I haven't a clue the exact name of the driver I need. Is this maybe a special tool?

The picture attached is that of the lower steering linkage, but the bolt is the same.

Thanks for your time

it's not a special tool. It's a triple square tool. Not sure on the size.

Yep, that's exactly it. Thanks so much. If I had to guess I'm going to assume maybe 14mm. I'll find out soon enough.

Appreciate it

MB does make a special tool which is basically a triple square welded to the end of a metal shaft. It's nice to use for alignments on tight spaces as the triple square from Snap On may not fit on some models due to the tight space around the bolt.

the tool you are looking for is called an XZN bit or socket. They make them in varying sizes..

something like what is in this set.. http://www.sjdiscounttools.com/vimxzn100.html

You need the tool that Sunman mentioned. I have it, as well as the Snap On socket too. However, the Snap On socket is way to big. All you need to do is counter hold the bolt in order to loosen the nut and then tighten it back on. The MB part number for this is: W 202 589 00 10 00. It is made by Hazet, so maybe you can get something similar from them.

If you ever plan on doing a wheel alignment on your car, you need this tool or similar to adjust the rear toe. The Snap On one just won't do it.

I hope this helps!

Finished it today, its a 12mm.

Yea, snap-on's is WAY to big. Actually ran into someone with a set that Matco sells similar to the ones mentioned. In and out no problems.

I appreciate the help
