2000 C280 won't start

I posted this in the C class area. I was hoping to get an idea of where to look.

My 2000 C280 had two codes initially that indicated the MAF needed replaced. After doing that I got a P0305 code but no more MAF code. I first swapped the wires and coil for 4 and 5. When I went to start it would not start. Knowing that they should of been interchangeable, I put them back in original position and replaced the wires and plugs for position 5. The car still will not start. No clicking or attempt at starting. The lights come on and the chimes work, but no starting. Not sure where to look. Thanks.

Do your dash lights dim when you turn the key?

Yes they do. It makes a short duration noise. Less then a second. Then that was it. I wonder if the starter is engaging.

I jumped the battery on Sunday, and it runs fine now. I will replace the battery next.
