A/C doesn't blow cold on 2001 E55

The automatic climate control on my E55 drives me crazy. I can't get the air to click on.

The A/C worked fine last summer, but doesn't seem to be working now.

I want to check out some simple solutions before worrying about recharging the Freon or replacing the compressor or evaporator.

I've read that the actual temperature sensor can go bad, or that the problem can be as simple as a blown fuse. What can I do to diagnose some of these simpler fixes?

The car just rolled over 100,000 miles and is fine otherwise.

Check the clutch on the compressor when the a/c is turned on,, if not engaged you probably are low on freon with a leak somewhere. If it is engaged and not cooling you might have a defective expansion valve.

Just my thoughts. Jim
