High Beams not working properly

High Beams not working properly
While driving at night recently the high beams just went off, turned them back on they went off again a few minutes later, now they won't come on at all. Any ideas as to what happened?? I am suspecting the lever switch mechanism bit I am no tech! Any help much appreciated, if anyone else has run into this let me know what you did. Thanks
