are Used 320 engines the same?
I've been looking at used engines ( just in case). Is the engine in an '97 e320 the same as the one in my '96 S320?

different engines
the '97 E-class (W210 chassis) uses the V6 3.2L engine
the '96 S-class (W140 chassis) uses an inline 6 cylinder
the only similarity is the displacements and the number of cylinders.

1997 s320, 1997 e320
1997 w210 e320 & 1996 w140 s320 use both the same engine - m104/inline 6
1998-2002 w210 e320 use the m112/v6.
