acc. ASR skidpad warning light

i was driving this morning and the acc asr skidpad light appeared. can anyone please tell me what that is by the way i drive a 96 e420

are you referring to the yellow triangle with exclamation point? if it stayed on, meant your traction control was off (or something wrong with it, check the switch, next to shifter), if it blinked for a bit, meant traction control was in use.

I've had this happen a few times on my E-class. At least once, the engine would concurrently stall. Otherwise, there were no other effects, and I haven't seen it in a couple of years. I wouldn't worry about it.
