7G-Tronic: Love It or Hate It?
I've put about 5,000 miles on my 7G-Tronic and have decided that I both love it and hate it. It has great rev-matching and I love tapping it up through all the gears manually, holding it down in 2nd and tromping it at 3000, or kicking it down to 3rd at 50 and jumping on it. As manu-matics go it's one of the better ones I've played with and it's world's better than the Audi Tiptronic. But in full auto mode it has a tendency to seek too low of a gear too quickly, it almost always comes out of corners one gear to high, and hesitates way too long using the Shift to Optimal feature. To me it is almost perfect but has enough quirks to make me seriously want to reprogram it. How's your relationship with your 7G-Tronic?
