Extracting a switch unit from a trim panel

I've just acquired a heater-control trim panel from e-Bay for my W126. One of the slots has a switch unit in it, the rest being empty. I want to extract the switch, but it's not moving easily. Is it glued in or should it snap out? Any tips?

Wood panel should come off around the switch I think.

Thanks for the response.

I should have tried harder: I have now found that the switch units are held in place by spring clips, and a simple firm push from the back gets them out.
