Fuel-indicator problems

I have a CLK 230 K -00. The fuel-indicator is showing empty tank when i start the car... After a few minutes it goes up to full even though I have 50% fuel in the tank.

Is there anyone who know what to do ?? Is it expensive to fix ??

Please help...

/Janus

The Fuel Level sensors are defective and Should be replaced
The Car Should still be under Warranty...Take it in for the repairs!
I Have Seen Lots of them do this!

Thanks for the help...
I will contact my service station and hope that they will help me.
I live in Sweden and I imported the car from Germany so I hope that the European warranty covers the problem.
I´ll post a reply after contacting the service station.

Tnx again...

Best regards Janus, Sweden

You won't necessarily need the sender replaced. I had to have my sensor electronically recalibrated and that fixed it for me. My issue was similar, but in my case Id fill the car up - and it wouldn't go back up from empty to indicated full for about 80-100 miles!!

As soon as they reset the sender its been fine. On the other hand, the C's have a bad history with sender units.

Good luck.
