STKLAW, the coupsters were wetting their knickers over this one several weeks ago, but it also came out in that thread that it was more expensive to install than the parts cost. Something about rearranging the wiring that already runs through the sills and fishing the harnesses for the ill. parts (apparently the harness and connectors are not there automatically as part of the loom.)
$900 sounds a bit excessive, though. I'd also be concerned about what happens when the first light goes out.

Illuminated Door Sills - only available 2 doors
I have Illuminated door sills installed on my 2001 E430 from the dealer for $720 + tax. I really wanted Illuminated door sills on all four doors but the salesman told me that Illuminated door sills are only available for first 2 doors for E-class, I checked with other dealerships and even 1-800-FOR-MERCEDES and they gave me the same answer that only for first 2 doors.
I am very interested to know if you can get it for the two rear doors so please let me know the part-number and where you get it from(oem only because the dealer will only install Mercedes one only but not the aftermarket)

If you search "illuminated door sills" on ebay you will come up with several that have them for all 4 doors. Can't tell if them are OEM. They run appox $200 for a set of 4.
