124 driver's window misbehaving

I broke something on my 94 E 320's driver's window when it was frozen one morning. It got off the tracks on the lift. I removed the lift, could see nothing obviously broken, and reinstalled it. It goes up and down, stops normally in the down position. However, the window does not close completely ( < 1 cm short) and does not shut off automatically.
I see the lift and motor are separate. Because of this, I'm not sure what to replace. I have not found any procedure for synchronizing the two. Can anyone offer suggestions? Thanks.
Bill
