brake dust

i just got an 08 c300 4matic and there seems to be a fair amount of brake dust behind all four wheels is this usual? thanks

Yes - the OEM pads are soft to enhance stopping. if you search the forum you'll find recommendations for replacements with less dust.

Wash your wheels weekly.

Put car wax on them so the dust doesn't stick so readily.

This is a sign you have a superior car.

Perfectly normal and to be expected with MB's and other european cars. There are other aftermarket pads that will give off less dust BUT you must be prepared to have less stopping ability and faster wear of the rotors. I would not replace with anything but MB pads.
