sl55 how to remove/repair SC clutch pulley & bearing
hi,
my sl55 was havings some supercharger pulley noise. then, it started rattleing at idle. i opened the cover and the bearings were shot. they are all moving around and making noise. does MB sell the bearings for the supercharger itsself?
also, the top of the motors stripped. how do i remove the supercharger pulley? is there a tool needed? or does an impact gun on the large bolt work?? im going to try to upload some pics aswell.
Thanks

you will have to loosen the engine mounts first, install the special bracket on top of the super charger, use an engine lift and lift the motor enough so you can get to the bolt in front of the s/c. then loosen it. If your bearings are really shot, and the bearing is fused to the shaft, you will have to use the special MB tool to remove it. The bearing is NOT available from MB alone. It comes as an assy with clutch and runs approx 1100 bucks.
